We’re about to get an additional hour of daylight, whichs opens up your grilling and BBQ opportunities quite nicely…! Here’s a recipe to try next time you fire up your grill… the Aloha Burger…!
We met Josh Goerke one balmy summer afternoon in Daytona Beach… he offered us a beer and a burger…!
How could we resist…?
Josh is the head man at the Daytona Taproom and Gastro Pub and has personally created the menus, the burgers and sides
from the bottom up, through trial and error…
That’s also how he came to be fond of Guinness, served at the pub…:)
Head to Seabreeze Avenue when you have a taste for an awesome micro-brewed beer and a hand-crafted burger…

Cookin’ on Island Time! with Josh Goerke – Aloha Burger
Aloha Burger Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 pound chuck (per burger – 20% fat)
Smoked thick-sliced ham
Swiss Cheese
Teriyaki glaze
Ingredients: Mango Chutney
4 cups diced mango
1/4 cup sugar & brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup garlic
1/4 cup red pepper
a little water
Mix ingredients and let chill.
Ingredients: Ginger / Wasabi Mayo
1/2 cup mayo
2 tbsp wasabi
1 tbsp ginger
Mix ingredients and let chill.
Directions:
Cook burger over heat til your desired temperature (FYI… medium rare takes about 10 minutes total cooking time)…
Brush on teriyaki glaze while cooking burger… add cheese and ham after your last flip, let melt…
Top with mango chutney, ginger/wasabi mayo… and open wide…!
